Here's my mk3, went through several stages of ratty-ness and then ended up orange. This is pretty much how i want it now apart from changing those mirrors for some standard ones which i'll somehow put side repeaters in, want some banded g60s and more leather on the inside but here it is for now:

I have added more stickers since these pictures were taken, and the new arch, de-rusting even-ing of the roof and smoothing of the rub strips, bumpers, handles, side repeaters, rear badge and rear wiper by done by ryan (rixy from ecdc) who im sure you all know and did an amazing job so thanks once again ryan! Very Happy

Gave the golf a nice service today with nathan

done:

- oil filter
- air filter
- cabin/pollen filter
- fuel filter
- glow plugs
- oil change

now starts on the dot, no smoke or anything

Also helped doug do a cv boot on his mk2 polo coupe and tackled a sheered bolt from one of his discs and re-assembled the brakes

..Day of rest my arse lol!

Ryan (Rixy) - Moderator on ec-dc.co.uk done my handles, rub strips, rear badge, rear wiper, side repeaters and both bumpers and sprayed the sides with loads of high build and flattened to get them as smooth as possible and did a million coats of primer flattening inbetween layers all at once so hard to give a price lol

But that lot came to about £1,000 (including materials)and had my golf for about 2 weeks

if that's any help?

He is really good, highly reccomend - i'm getting him to do my indicators + tow eyes as soon as i get my headlights sorted with indicators in Very Happy

Been busy on the mk3 since last on here. Converted to vr brakes, wishbones, hubs, driveshafts etc and got my front bumper fully smoothed and general tidying up..

Just cut and pasting posts some some of this might not make sense, but you'll get the gist...

Painted up my calipers as lupton suggested

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange B3A584D6-orig

Still waiting for my bearings to be pressed so I can start putting everything back on..

..Got the bearings done so I've assembled the rears onto the car

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange 2D488E2A-orig

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange 79A507AC-orig

Only problem is I didn't realize I needed bigger wheel bolts so I can put the wheels on and start the front

.. One problem after another! ..

.. After getting hold of all new bolts and nuts the front brakes are all together

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange 23E62952-orig

Just wishbones, servo, brake line ends and handbrake cable to go ..

... Wishbones not arrived, brake line bending tool not arrived, handbrake cable not arrived.. So been chopping my lights up and put the indicator components from some real mk4 lights in one of the fake holes in my copies and silicon sealed them in place. The tomorrow gonna no more nails over the top so they won't move anywhere Smile

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange B71F61C7-orig

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange 1EE33342-orig

Ta da! ...

... Brake conversion completed! Smile

Just changed my raving hom 'dubway' and 'I'm not drunk..' stickers for these...

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange E225B85C-orig

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange C834C5D4-orig

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange F692E598-orig

Sean's Mk3 - Smooth and Orange A5A0A401-orig

You should see me about again soon Smile ...

...

So yeah rims will be invested in closer to show season. But for now just general tidying the car up over winter with all the little things in appearance that annoy me. Should be trying to attend this meet coming up providing I'm not working.

Let us know your thoughts Smile
