Hi Everyone,

I bought Vera about 2 weeks ago as my first car, She only set me back £280 and has only done 90k so there is plenty of life left in her. I've always liked doing stuff to the bikes that I've had, Vera will be no exception. So she is my little project for the time being. I'll post pictures as I gradually do work on her and you can see what you think!

This is her fresh from the previous owner,

After a bit of elbow grease and a few cans of bumper black, I also got rid of the horrible £12.99 hubcaps from Halfords and hammerited the slightly rusted wheels and Painted the badges black. I have also sorted out the speakers in the back which her half hanging out and didnt work and pained the gay carbon fibre look Ripspeed handbrake plain black.

This is a cool little keyring my mate cut me out on the laser at work, one of a kind! haha

I will do the next lot of work when I pass my test, hopefully this will be slamming her on coilovers and eventually some nice deep dish wheels.

This is what I ride at the moment!

Rears: Old Vs New

During: I wasnt sure where to start with setting the height on them so I did the adjusters up so they just pinch the springs, this way figure they wont knock when I encounter large bumps.

After: I'm quite please with how the rear sits, Although I wouldnt mind it a little lower. I'm not sure if it will drop more once they get bedded in a bit, I did jump around in the boot a little XD

I Plan to do the fronts this weekend with my dad as one of the driveshaft boots needs replacing and I don't know how to do that...
In the mean time I bought some Halfords Value roof bars Very Happy
"Vera" the golf. IMAG0195

They aren't designed for my car but for vehicles with rain gutters however for £40.00 I felt modifications could be made. It was just a case of trimming off a rubber lip and bending the angled tabs on the clamps so that they matched the grooves in the roof. It seems to have worked... seems to have...
