| recently got my mk1 golf gti on the road. used it for a few weeks until 2 months ago. since then just used it a handful of times for very short journeys. i recently changed oil filter housing and oil pressure switch. now the oil pressure light keeps coming on after a few seconds driving and stays on. i also found a bit of white gunk on oil filler cap. no signs of moisture on dipstick and no signs of oil in header tank. any ideas? | |

| Change out the switch for genuine and if it still does it I have a pressure tester. Often the pump gums up as free a poo period of being stood still. Two solutions, new pump or try washing it out. Check out the wiring as often they're toss.
