im not so keen on the lms however....

Cheers think i shall be keeping the lm reps though to put back on the audi 'if' i ever get it fixed

Car's looking good James, I always meant to put a standard grill on as the badgeless one wasn't a great fit.

LMs look cool but a little too big I think - personally I loved the look and stance on the comps, always look better in the metal than in photos I think.

Have now got the comps back on it, i got fed up with tyres scrubbing if i drove over something bigger than an ant

Treated the ol' girl to some nice new brakes on the rear today. Old ones were getting knackerd. Really scored and pitted. Also put new wheel bearings in aswell, no point messing about swapping old ones into new discs.

Will use this as an excuse to bump up the thread a little.

i still think the comps looked the best,but it still looks stick dude

So i found this last weekend




Today thought id have a go at welding it up nothing to lose really apart from make the hole bigger

Cut out the rusted metal back to where it was decent enough to weld.



Rather than stick a patch over top i thought i'd try fixing one in flush, to hold it in place i made a couple of little clamps..





Clamps seemed to work ok.. the gap looks really big here but it wasnt too bad really. Most places the gap was just right to get it filled with weld.



But i failed on the clamp design i tacked the 'pin' in the bottom with weld when it should have just been slid in.. so once i had welded i couldnt get the clamps out without cutting them ah well i'll know next time.

Finished job.. not great but its bunged the hole up for the time being

nice m8, did the same to mine but it was 10 times worse and it still faild the mot

Will try it on the car tomorrow maybe and see how it looks.. may try gun metal grey if it looks poop.

Only reason im doing it is because i have cracked this one on the inner rim so it will need a refurb when i get it welded up anyway..

Tried the black wheel on today when I had a spare minute.. still not too sure on it, but its hardly fair trying a freshly painted wheel onto a filthy muddy car I've decided the yellow fogs are going now though, just don't fit in.





Tomorrow I'm stripping some bits of interior out as its going into ak bodycraft on monday to have new sills put on and a couple of bits of other rust sorted out.

Suppose I'll have to clean it before I take it to the bodyshop though

Went over to ak bodycraft this afternoon to remove the front bumper and front wings while it was up on the ramp.. saves me a bit of money doing it myself
