No no that's fine. You had a point to make, you knew what you knew and you stick to it. Fair play.
No offence intended and none taken.
You were not rude or derogatory so we're all good.

I did bang my head against the wall a few times over it.

I'm too old, my skins too thick and I'm far too ignorant to be offended.

Previously on another forum where I'm admin/mod I've argued till I'm blue in face and there have been all kinds of deep insults slung around, then when the proof was in the pudding there were some very red faces and lots of pm'd apologies not to mention a few bollockings handed out, followed by a small exodus to ed38 with their tails between their legs.
Conversly I will always put my hands up if I am the one in the wrong.

PostSubject: RESSURECTION FROM THE DRIVE   Mk2 1.8 8v to 2L 8v ....CREEPING CLOSER EVERY DAY.... - Page 5 EmptySat Apr 16 2011, 21:30

Well today after looking at the poor more door on the drive and ignoring it for way way way too long I started it up and drove it into the workshop.

Hu bloody ray I hear one or two of you cry.

I've been ignoring it as I had an oil pressure issue I just could not reslove,I had a screaming oil pressure warning light on the dash and oil pressure through the roof at tick over.

I was totally at my witts end with the car. I just could not be bothered with it, i wanted nothing to do with it it was so very very frustrating.

Today I jacked the front up, stuck it on stands whizzed the pan off, dropped the oil pump out and changed it out for a known one from the drawer.
zipped the sump back on, chucked the oil in and spun it up.

SCREAMER !!!!!! f*****g car, f*****g s**t head of an arseole of a car i wanted to beat the s**t outta it with my big f off hammer.

So I went off and sulked, had dinner, cup of tea, fag, another fag, phoned my mate Stevie and chatted away with him and what he thought, his thoughts were the same as mine.

So back to basics.

New filter .....

SCREAMER !!!!

Swapped oil pressure sensors over....

SCREAMER !!!!

Swore alot, had a fag.

Checked out the wiring to the sensors.
Crimped new terminals .....

SCREAMER !!!!!

Went off and sorted through my box of bits and found new sensors.
Long debates ensued as to which one was which but we came to the conclusion (guess) that the blue sensor has the blue wire go to it, black wire to the black sensor.

Well feck me it didn't scream, I whacked the oil pressure gauge on it and it read within normal range.

Thank Fuck for that !!

So now tomorrow I'm swapping out the steering pump and pas pipe to the rack.
I reckon to drive it up the road tomorrow.

Exhaust blow to sort out, small brake issue, water pipes to connect up.
A few bulbs to put in, door cards to install.

I genuinely am excited about this car again.
A few little bodywork dings to sort but I think I'm about to finish my summer bummer !!

Big smile on my face again .
Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile

This is just being one of those fight like a b*****d cars, I seem to be a magnet to them.
Anyone else would just not have this luck.

If was easy then it wouldn't be worth having, of that I'm sure.

Thanks Matty, encouragement is always needed when your project stalls like this one did.

The thing in the other shed gets fiddled with most sundays.

However much you tamper with it Jay you ain't gonna straighten the door or remove the few rust blows it has. But the rest'll come up good I'm sure.

Well, It's been a while since posting about this stalled project....

Since my last post I've increased my family by one and taken ownership of another mk2 and sold a BMW.

In the last week I've pulled the engine, subframe, rack , front off.

I wasn't happy with the engine as it was constantly screaming at me and it was too lumpy with the piper cam.

Soooo, pulled the rack and swapped it out for a mk3 one with mk2 internals,
Swapped out the bottom end for a known 2.0l bottom end. New head gasket.
Job done and I discovered why it was lumpy, injector number 3 wasn't quite plugged in properly and the plug was jumping around causing lumpy running and the screaming is an earthing issue.

All that's left to do now is make a pipe from the 4branch to the system(Monday's job) and run it up to bleed the coolant properly.
I've another set of sebrings recently painted in dark silver with some pirelli P6000 and some bridgestones. (also Monday's job)
Then bung the wheels on, sort the tracking, oh bung the shafts in (doh), sort out the exhaust hangers and rubbers then It's off for mot later this week followed by a short journey to its new home.

If you know who that is please keep quiet.

Pics up tomorrow.

Mike since starting this, I've increased my family by one bought and sold about 12 or more cars, had other peoples car block my workshop for nearly five months (fucking supra) repaired god knows how many other peoles cars and it just had to take a back seat and wait its turn.

I tell thee though, the little wizz up the road was fooking brill, I cant wait for it to be run up on the c.o. meter tomorrow and time it on the light and see how she feels then on the trip back from the test.

I've a motorsport chip to install and somewhere a 4 bar fpr, or I might just modify this one.( you can ya knaas )

It really does need a diesel starter as the compression's so high it struggles a little to spin it over.
