| Where has this been hiding?
Looking good guy keep going, I will come over hopefully soon and have a chat/meet etc, I'm still looking for early centre console, and hopefully you could blast a few items for me ready for my build which starts next Friday!
What paint are you using for gearbox, and other engine parts may I ask?
Cheer jim | |

| I've been using acid etch primer or red oxide then using hammerite smooth as I get a deal on it, if it fits in the oven it gets baked for an hour or two to harden it up. Everything has been blasted, nothing has escaped its reach. It's time consuming but it gives a new life to an old part. Plus the paint adheres to it straight off. | |

| Well more happened today....... I painted and cooked these......... Gear selector assembly..... Alternator adjustment bracket..... Gear linkage rod and R clip...... Whilst they were baking I went back to the workshop and got the blaster out and blasted the remaining rear beam rust, then hoisted it up and got the red oxide out and started painting............. only to be thwarted by running out of paint, BUT I did get half of it painted and I'll pick up some more this afternoon and try and finish it off tonight. Me thinks this might be a squeeze into my oven, big as it is I just dont think it's gonna go... Anyone lend me a uv lamp ? | |

| As it happens I managed to get half of the double front cross member sand blasted and laquered some parts also. I would have got more done but I had to go and show Vindis they had broken both of my drive shafts on my T5. Heres the water pipe that I blasted and painted the other day. I laquered it too. So a little further on. | |

| I've been at the sandblaster and I've been waving the paint around the sandblsted front crossmembers. Both were blasted and then washed with thinners, red oxided, matt blacked and then black glssed with hammerite. A good result in a short space of time, so it's one more thing thats done and one less thing left to do before final assembly of all the parts to make a whole ! The slam panel in the background behind the mkiv is next to be painted. | |

| So after taking the dogs for a walk I wandered down to the workshop and stood looking at the rear beam which was complete in red oxide, looked at the cans of paint and got busy before dinner !! Yet one more thing off the list of things to do............Behold !!! Unable to make my mind up which pic to use I threw both up ... | |

| Right I got on with a bit more today, I was up realatively early (for me) on a saturday and I plumbed up the master cylinder brake lines and popped the resovoir on. I ripped out the old rear beam and installed the painted rear beam with the poly bushes and new stub axles and put the bearings in the rear discs and put the caliper carriers and discs on. We had a little trouser issue too. Trouser issue....... | |

| Right did a couple more things this afternoon, I looked in the boot and found some crystal M3 lights which I got from Steve Caddyman and I'd forgotten about so they got thrown on, with before and after pics...... BEFORE........AFTER.......Then while I was there I decided to build up my rear shocks and change the top mounts/bushes for the new ones I've got for it.... Only to find that the top plates were rusted to FECK and completeley useless..... SO, does anyone have one or two of the top plates lying around they would like to sling my way and I can get on with the rear suspension build again ? 07791001385 or mk2_16v@hotmail.com
